The institute server and the info server are both getting on in years. In addition, the legal framework has also changed over the years: In addition to the General Data Protection Regulation, for example, the Web Accessibility Act has also been in effect since September 2020. According to this, all websites of public institutions, which also include us as TU Wien, must be accessible. At the same time, phase 3 also offers the opportunity to give “old” websites a new, contemporary look and structure.
In phase 3, the pages of the faculties, dean’s offices, institutes and research units will gradually be migrated from the old to the new systems.
Schedule
The pages of the faculties, dean’s offices, institutes and research units will gradually be brought from the old to the new systems. There will be the following dates, staggered by OU type, from which they will receive access to the new system (for the sake of clarity, we would like to point out that this does not mean that the websites must be completely migrated by these dates, it is in a sense merely a “starting point”):
- Faculties: by summer 2021
- Deans’ offices: by summer 2021
- Institutes: from July/August 2021
- Research units: from September/October 2021
